Have you ever been to MATS? It's something that you have to attend at least once during your career as a driver or even if you aren't a driver. It's acres of everything trucking from the finest show trucks to the latest and greatest in technology. Glistening chrome and gleaming paint are a feast for the eyes of any one that loves trucks like I do.
It's one of the rare times that we in the industry are the main focus of everyone that's connected to trucking in anyway. Vendors, company and service providers will be more than abundant. Recruiters for the mega fleets will be handing out tons of info and trying to hire new drivers.
MATS has held the title of being the largest and best trucking show event in the country with drivers from all 50 states and numerous countries. If a product isn't at MATS well you probably don't need it is the way I see it. The 2007 show had over 78,000 people and who knows how many you might know.
This is our time as an industry to shine and enjoy the attention and respect that we all need. It's one of the things that will be talked about for many a late night on the roads.
Will you go and enjoy the hundreds of trucks and thousands of people that are there? You should and be sure to take lots of pictures to share with those of us that won't be able to go.
