Not excited anymore
Posted On 05/14/2008 08:13:08 by Txrebelcowgirl

Usually I get soooo tired of winter because I just hate cold weather, I love it warm out so my kids can play outside and we can all just enjoy time outside. I pray for spring and summer to get here and I get SO excited when it comes. Now i'm praying for it to go.lol. Even though in Texas we have learned that tornados can hit at anytime. Temperatures around here can change quickly. It can be 90 degrees on Christmas at times. We had a tornado one night, in December, people didn't believe it could happen but it did, I worked in daycare then and we had the kids in the hallway, I was mad that I was there, I wanted to be with my daughter but I couldn't, but she was ok with her mimi and papa.

This morning I just woke up and was listening to the silence, then another what I thought was just a storm was passing through, they were expected around 4am, I didn't know what time it was, just that it was dark. Turns out it was sometime in between 6am and 6:30. I heard weird thunder, sounded like a train when you hear the cars of a train stoping and it jolts and makes a loud sound, well, that's what I heard, no trains near the house so I knew automatically what was comin. Just a few seconds later I heard the sirens, I ran upstairs, knocked on my parents bedroom door, went into the other bedroom, grabbed the kids and we all got in the downstairs half bath, lol, that was crowded. It lasted a few minutes and then it was gone. Thankfully we are ok. Just some tree limbs down, shingles ripped off and toys & ice chest pieces scattered across the yard. The next door neighbors basketball goal was almost on their car. With my folks here I stayed more calm than the last time so now I can't say anymore that I'm always alone when tornados hit. I don't ever remember a time when there was this many during one season. Schools are delayed this morning, one even closed for the day because of so much damage in town up in Salado that they don't want people hurt just tryin to get their kids to school. What a way to wake up! The kids were so tired, they usually sleep til 7 or 7:30 but gettin woke up like that when I just grab them out of their beds, poor things were so tired so after I fed them they're takin a little nap.
I hope everyone is ok, if anyone was goin thru texas or any area gettin hit like this, be safe, take cover somewhere!
Have a good day yall, God Bless!
