History In The Making!
Posted On 06/03/2008 23:40:00 by Raven714

Today June 3, 2008 Senator Barrock Obama has officially been nominated as the Democrat nominee for President of the United States of America.
It has been a long journey, and a historic landmark as the first African American man has been elected as nominee for President. The road to this point was long and painful, a fight like no other, and as Senator Obama fills a room of 17 thousand and another 15 thousand just outside, and millions more watching from television around the world, he gave his victory speech. A historical speech so powerful it raised the hairs from the back of my neck and sent chills down my arms.
Not sense the great speech from John F. Kennedy has a speech been so elegant as the one that was given by Senator Obama tonight, and tonight we end one historical journey only to begin another, and we are living it as it is written day by day, hour by hour, and minute by minute. Every second from here on out will be written in every history book and every encyclopedia until the end of time.
We must now all come together as a Democrat party and finally retake our country, and reclaim our Constitution which was taken from the American people by the Republican party.
Forget what party you are and continue to fight to reclaim what is truly yours, and the reward will be freedom liberty truth and justice for all. We the people are in the fight of our life and we will not be discouraged by any more political propaganda that will soon follow in the weeks to come.
We must be very open minded to the things this country truly needs, and the issues that are at hand.
We all want better health care that is affordable to every American, we all agree that it is past time for our heros to come home and end this illegal war. Our economy has been in a downhill spiel ever since George W. Bush hijacked the White House and we the people are here to reclaim the White House and kick the trash to the curb and put someone there that will truly understand the Constitution and work within the guidelines and understand it to be considered to be the main law of the land.
We must all remember and the person that we put in the White House will understand that they work for us, not the other way around.
For we the people have spoken and we will unite this country for the good of all.
Congratulations Senator Obama for we the people are proud to stand beside you because you truly understand what “We the People” stands for.

You are right about history in the making. This electorial year will most certainly be one of the most important elections of all time. Just be very careful what you wish for.

I am finding it very difficult to understand why a man whose Mother is white, and whose Father is one quarter black, can be considered to be Afro-American. Somehow that concept leaves me somehow confused.

You claim to want to see the democratic party reclaim the Constitution, which has never been lost. Interesting concept. Taking something back that was never taken away. Hmmmmmmm will have to think about that one for a bit.

I myself hope that your dreams are not realized, I like my freedom and I like living in a "free" society. A society in which I can live and work where I want to and I can do any kind of work that I am qualified for. I just cannot see myself living in a country where the choice in my life are not my own, but those of the Government who believes that they know better than me as to how I should live my life. Another concept that edoes not sense to me.

These are just the ramblings of an old man that has been around the truckstop more than once. It is just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions, They are jsut like _______ everybody has one.
Hope you enjoy your weekend

I sometimes wonder why people seem to believe, that the same failed policies will be successful with another candidate whose policies are the same.

“Look” At the way this economy is going now, ask yourself if you want more of this? When George W. Bush took office the price gas was $1.47 a gallon and now for regular unleaded hitting more than $4.00 and with Bush's approval rating at an all time low at 25% you ask yourself, do you want more of the same? This should not be hard to think about!

We are more at a threat now then we have ever been, and the more time we spend starting wars for oil with other countries the better the chances we are at risk. Our Constitution has been stripped from the time the Bush administration took office, from warrantless  wiretapping to launching an illegal war with knowledge of facts knowing the inelegance was not true, to revealing the identity of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson, to profiting off of war, and that alone is an act of treason. Ask yourself, do you approve of treason!

I guess it is OK for the 25% of the people that still support the Bush administrations failed policies, can look the other way when they try and rewrite the Constitution so that it would exclude them from prosecution. Nevertheless, however you or the other 25% feel about turning a blind eye to justice, it doesn’t justify “not” having a full understanding of what the Constitution was truly written for. Read the Constitution and then read whom it was written for and then try and understand why it was written, and then maybe the ones that forgot what it was truly written for will finally understand.

My Father was born in Brooklyn, NY. And my Mother was born in S.C..  I was born in Florida, I guess that would make me a Floridian! Right? Obama’s mother was from Kansas and his father from Africa and Obama was born in, Honolulu Hawaii so this would make him a Hawaiian. Right? First it would make him an American, and with his heritage he is an African American. This should not even be a talking point, and the only reason that you brought it up was because people like yourself are racist bigots, and only see the color of a person’s skin and not what is on the inside, and you are out of anything productive to write about.
If you think that your liberties and freedom are not being taken away from you then you truly are blind, Read up on the “Patriot Act” and if you have any common knowledge then you will understand.
(WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 — A federal judge in Oregon ruled that crucial parts of the Patriot Act were not constitutional because they allowed federal surveillance and searches of Americans without demonstrating probable cause.)
(“For more than 200 years, this nation has adhered to the rule of law — with unparalleled success,” Judge Aiken’s opinion said in finding violations of the Fourth Amendment prohibitions against unreasonable search and seizure. “A shift to a nation based on extra constitutional authority is prohibited, as well as ill advised.”)
In short I guess it is OK with you for the police to come to your house kick your door in, through you on the floor, then go upstairs and kick the door in on your wife while she is in the shower and through her to the floor, then do the same to your children, all without a warrant. This is OK with you? You would be pissed and the first thing that would come out of your mouth would be “Where Is Your Warrant?” And their response would be “Shut Up We Do Not Need One!” I guess people like you would say that’s OK!
And that is why I can say you have no knowledge of the Constitution.
Sometimes it is better to open your eyes to the truth, because living a plastic transparent life of being stupid is not very healthy.

I want to thank everyone for your responses.

“As for most that
know me”  know that I am very passionate about my country, and our
hero's fighting for it. My respect to them will always be to the
highest and will never falter. However, my respect for the person that
claims to be for the people, and will not hesitate to put our hero's in
harms way, by misleading them into an illegal war, and mislead the
American people into believing his propaganda for his own political
gain, will never ever have my respect. I have a great deal of respect
for our hero's.
And as for a persons name, that should not even be a
talking point, it is just a name and that is all it is. It is as common
as Bob, Jack, John and so-forth, maybe not in our part of the world but
it is what it is.
Obama was not my first choice either, however once
reading one of his autobiographical (Dreams from My Father) made me
realize that Obama has a mission, and his mission has been an on going
battle to fight for the people and their rights, he truly understands
the Constitution and what it stands for. Not since Bobby Kennedy did,
we have a candidate that was truly honest with the people, and had
visions of a better country,  Bobby Kennedy would have become President
if he had not been assassinated.
Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii
and has been fighting for the people before going to Harvard and
graduating at the top of the class. Yes I can compare Obama to Bobby
they both were and are fighting for the same reasons. We must do
everything in our power regardless of party, race or gender to make
sure he is our next President, because he is our only hope if we want a
better world. Obama will set the standards of what a true President is
supposed to be.
As far as having Congress to back Obama in his
decisions, in a bipartisan way, there is no dough in my mind with his
fights for the people when he was a congressman, earned him the respect
from both sides and including the Senate. The bottom line is nobody
will ever agree on some issues, which is just the nature of the beast
however, Obama has been very successful in bringing members of congress
and the Senate together and realizes that it is for the good of the
people and not their own gain. Obama’s record speaks for themselves,
and has proven time after time what he is all about, Obama has earned
my respect thus far!
In most all my articles that I write, I
reiterate that people should be very open minded, and research the
candidate. With a better understanding of a persons life history and
goals can we understand what they are truly for.
My articles are
from my heart, and passions for my country, and I will always fight for
what is right, for it is my duty as it is written in our Constitution
of the United States of America.
With great respect to our hero’s I will fight for you for you have fought for me!
Be safe and God Speed!
