First let me say Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers.
I am sorry that I didn't write anything about Father's Day this year but I was at the Pri Med getting my eye looked at. I know better than to go there on a weekend without an appointment. After 4 hours of waiting I'm a pirate except I have a white patch instead of the traditional black. I guess some how or another I really scratched up the cornea of my right eye. Doc says it should be healed up in the next 24-36 hours. I hope so cause it's really aggravating.
Well folks tomorrows the day that I have, hopefully, the last surgery for a long time. At about 5:30 AM the Doc is going to fix my right elbow, again. I hope that goes better than the last surgery I had on my left knee. Getting old is hell.
Good Lord willing I'll be home tomorrow by noon. I guess the only good thing is Russ gets to cook for a while, but I did buy some TV dinners in case he goes on strike or wants to eat something I don't like.
After 35 years of supporting the Philip Morris company I've been working hard at not smoking. This is the fourth week now and things are going good. The Chantix seems to do what it's supposed to. I haven't had any of the side effects thankfully.
I'm glad the Chantix worked or I maybe I was just ready to quit or a combination of them all, which ever it was that got me here besides the Good Lord because I was smoking over 3 packs most days, and it was really taking a toll on me. Frankly I think I was bad for Olive too since she insist on being right where I am.
I have to say I don't really miss them. It's been harder because Russ decided at the last minute he wasn't ready to quit. I was really hoping that both of us would be ex-smokers, but hey if he wasn't ready then that's the way it is. I respect his right to smoke and refuse to nag and complain about it. I did ask him not to smoke in the house and he has done that for which I am very thankful, other wise I don't think I'd be this far along.
I decided to take the money I was spending on cigarettes and put it in a savings account so we can eventually go to Alaska which has been a long time dream of mine and Russ. We might not come back to the lower 48 either. The heat has been horrible here this year already (not as bad yr) and we are so sick of it. So if anyone knows of a state that has no state income tax, low property taxes and lots of wide open spaces where it doesn't stay in the 90s for 9 months out of a year let me know. We might be neighbors.
I hope everyone has a safe week, say a lil prayer for me. Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow afternoon.
