Well we arrived safe and sound yesterday evening at 5:55pm which means we made really good time since we left at 9:15 AM even after killing an hour with multiple Olive breaks and eating at Bainbridge,GA. I gotta say Zaxsby's has great chicken fingers LOL. Of course almost anything taste good when you don't have to cook it. Gas was only $1.59 at the Racetrack on US 27 on the south-side of town, Diesel at the old Bainbridge Truckstop on US 84 was $2.50 whew. I wonder if it'll make it to less than $2 bucks a gallon.
It was good to see everyone and even though I was sequestered most of the time working on computers I managed to enjoy myself. Ate too much and stayed up too late but it was worth it.
I had a heart stopping phone call from my sister in Michigan Thanksgiving morning telling me that Mom had an aneurysm and was in the E.R. Thankfully it was what the doctor called a false or fake aneurysm, gave her a shot and sent her home before I could pack and head up there at a high rate of speed. She had to have additional stents put in her heart the week before because the ones she had were 70% blocked with plaque because her cholesterol is TOO high. So she's on Plavix. We were ALL Thankful that she was OK. Mom's gotta loose some weight somehow. Since she's 76, only has one lung, arthritis in her hips, extremely overweight, has COPD and is on oxygen all the time it's hard but there has to be a way. I'll work on that while I'm there over Christmas. Her Docs did say she could use the treadmill she bought in a few weeks. Whether she does remains to be seen.
Just a word of warning, if you take Plavix do not stop taking it just because you feel better or your cholesterol goes down. A friend of mines sister did and a chunk of plaque broke loose and killed her. So be sure that your doctor tells you it's OK. I think I be asking about the risk of stopping it though.
Snobby was mad at us for leaving her but we were forgiven this morning when she decided to grace us with her presence. Thankfully she didn't leave any dead animal parts in the back door landing as a sign of her displeasure. Olive was so happy to be home she crawled into her bed and didn't get up until daylight this morning.
I have to say I love our BED. I didn't used to but now I do. If it just vibrated and made sounds like a running diesel I'd never get far away from it. There is nothing better than getting home and being back in your little world called home.
