"I can see clearly now, the rain is gone, I can see all obstacles in my way. Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind. It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)Sun-Shiny day". We all have heard those words sung by Bob Marley Johnny Nash and other artist. Well I changed rain to cataract. Mr. Sun was NOT my friend yesterday when I had to go for my post op checkup, whew I could have used some of those dark clouds. One down one to go.
The surgery was very successful.They even started early I was scheduled for 12:00 noon and by 1:20 PM we were on the way home. Fastest surgery I've ever had. I don't remember a thing after they put the oxygen mask on which suits me fine. I'm not too keen on seeing a needle or any thing else for that matter come close to my eyes. June 1st I get rid of the other cataract, and then look out! I'm liable to go back to driving just so I can see everything all over again. It's simply amazing the difference in everything especially colors. The clarity is like H.D. vision. I can see better each day, maybe no glasses when it's all over, now that would be outstanding! I don't care too much for the stupid looking plastic eye cover they want me to wear when I'm sleeping or the eye drops cause they burn. Nor am I too pleased about having to stay in the house, no strenuous activities bending etc since it's summer and I like to be outside. I have a lot of work I need to do with my backhoe. But I can suffer through it for the next few weeks. Especially since my lil hubby has been cooking! God heard my prayer. I'm very grateful that God made sure my surgeon had a good day and steady hands. He did an excellent job on me. I might even buy him(the surgeon) a SUPER SIZED meal at the fast food joint of his choice. I'd buy God one too but he has better sense than to eat the stuff.
I am especially appreciative of all the prayers, well wishes and kind words of encouragement that everyone gave me. I was terrified of the surgery although I'm an old hand at surgery, my eyes are a whole different ball game. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Be safe and take care.
