Today we morn the loss of a great journalist, Tim Russert age 58 has passed away from a heart attack.
As my first thoughts were sad, my heart goes out to the loved ones that were left behind, I can only say my thoughts and prayers. No matter where we are in life, time will always continue to move forward. The journey that lies before us all will always be a long and sometimes unbarring one. We still go forward, to seek out our destiny in life no matter what the outcome, and as we enjoy the smell of a rose in the morning or a most gracious sunset over the ocean in the summertime, we will always look forward to assuring that our destiny is always secure. You will always be remembered Tim. (1950-2008)

I'm not in the habit of missing anyone I don't know much less mentioning them. However Tim Russert had an impact on so many people, including me.
Over the past year I've gotten into the habit of watching his show Meet the Press on Sunday morning, I don't know what the heck I'll do now like all the others that watched the show every Sunday. And I just can't image the rest of the Presidential race without Tim's comments and interviews that really helped me figure out things. What about the election nights, who's going to call it as he did? Whos' going to keep me interested enough to stay awake to see who the new president is? Is there a replacement for him, I think not.
For years I didn't take an interest in politics but decided that I had to change because this election is for all the marbles and whom ever is elected is going to make or break our country literally and figuratively. Tim broke it down so I could understand it and even follow it to a certain degree. I learned a lot from listening and watching him. It's just not going to be the same.
NBC won't be the same, it's like when Walter Cronkite retired from CBS it wasn't the same and hasn't ever recovered from that in my eyes. Some people just define what a company is and that's what Tim did.
In some ways he was everyones Big Brother.
His family has truly lost their pivot point and their anchor in the storm of life. My condolences go out to them, especially his wife Maurine, his dad Big Russ and Luke his son.
