When they come home
We all have seen it on the wonderful invention call a TV, we have seen the news casts about the ordeal at Albu grad, and anymore when you turn on the TV to see what is on you see a radical group protesting the funeral of some Fallen soldier that has given up so much and left behind so many... Well quite frankly I personnelly am tired of it all, Let me give you all something good to think of when you turn on that precious TV that you are able to watch, Let me enlighten some of you with some actual events I have witnessed while working side by side with the American soldiers over here wishing they could go home to their wives and children or simple go back to the good ole home town... I have seen these soldiers come and go, I have personnely taken them to the airfield and wished them a safe journey home... I have made friends with so many and attended memorial ceremonies for some of them.... Folks when you think of all the bad that is out there on your tv think of the american soldier that is over here everyday in 130+ temps, dealing with dust and mud and everything else this land has thrown at them not to mention what they face while doing their job... And when you see an American soldier coming through the airport walk over to them and shake there hands and say thank you for giving so much for me... Or just simply stand up and start clapping for them as they have finally made it home to where they deserve to be and want to be... You will have to excuse the jumping around but I am tired as I write this... For I am still standing side by side with them like I promised to do when I wore the uniform.... But before I go I will leave you with a little story... While working on a base I had to cross the road into town to get to the other Base well while there it seemed as if I was never going to get waved through and I was getting irritated with the soldier there, I called him over and asked what the (blank) was the hold up, and all he would say was you will see with a big grin, well about the time he left I did get to see what it was that was holding me up...For about that time her come these four burrows at a slow walk, and right behind them was this young Iraqi boy carrying a whip that had to be taller then he was, but he was moving those burrows on down the road as fast as they would go.... I laughed so hard that I forgot to keep watching the soldier and he came over to my vehicle and had to tell me to get the (blank) out of the way... I will never forget this moment for in my hast to get back to my other base I forgot about simple humanity.... I think at times we all forget that.... Everyone keep'em safe and tell a soldier thanks for your freedoms... for they are the ones laying it all on the line for us all... God Bless
